Excellent staff & lovely clean private rooms with private bathrooms at a great price

I couldn't recommend this hotel more. We stayed here for one night initially, the staff were so lovely and welcoming, the rooms are old fashioned but clean with high ceilings and a luxury feel and have nice private bathrooms, the wifi is great, the air con is great in each room and it feels like a boutique hotel at a reasonable price. We then set off to explore Tayrona etc and asked the staff if we could leave our big rucksacks at the hotel (recommended if you are travelling to Tayrona, Palomino, Minca etc as you'll be doing A LOT of walking and will only need a little day bag) Anyway, they let us keep our rucksacks at the hotel for a very long time. When we got back, they were so friendly and we stayed for another two nights. We hadn't had much sleep so they went out of their way to provide a later breakfast for us so we could sleep in. Their laundry service is great. The owner is super friendly and the lady who works there every day is AMAZING. We would definitely stay here again. Also they have a lovely roof terrace!

One night stay

We stayed here for one night following our lost city trek and before we left to Bogota the next morning. The lady who was the sole staff member there didn't speak any English (my fault for not having better Spanish), but we managed some communication with the help of google translate. She organised a taxi to the airport, which never showed up (apparently broke down). When the next one she ordered for us turned up, we were running half an hour late and because of the limited communication between us it was difficult to demonstrate urgency. Again, this isn't really her fault. Just an unfortunate series of events that led to us nearly missing the first of four flights. The breakfast we got was delicious however! The room was ok with two twin beds and AC. The shower was hot but had very poor pressure. Access to the room was up a very narrow staircase which was rather difficult to haul a bag up. Close to the city by foot.

Okay one night stay

We booked this hotel before our trip to the ciudad perdida, the decoration was really original which we liked. It's quite close to the city center by foot which is nice. A young guy made our breakfast, he spoke good English and was very helpful.
Our room was dark, I was hoping for more natural light. It was also quite noisy, we were able to hear the people hanging out in the kitchen.

Dear Gezgin:
Firstably, thank you for writing this review and let us know your opinion about your stay.
Second, let me clarify the misunderstanding of the events of your stay.
When you return from your lost city treck to pick up your luggage, there was a lady but she was not my wife.
She was a guest that came in group booking that took the whole house for 10 days.
The lady that told you those rude words, was out of control.
You are right , you were our customer, and we realized about the incident, when we learned about the incident you already left.
We really apologized for this shameful incident. We file a complaint to the group that booked those nights.

Good location

Me and my husband stayed two nights in this place. We had the en-suite room adjacent to the dining-area. The kitchen is just outside of the room, and other guests take breakfast or dinner on the table in front of your door, so don't expect quiet and privacy from this room. The place has a good location, close to the cathedral, restaurants and shops, it is safe and staff is very nice and very helpful. Thanks again.
You can use the kitchen, and breakfast is the usual coffe-toast-eggs-juice-little fruit; not much, not bad but not exciting.
It is an old building, richly decorated with pictures, things and stuff. A little bit less of that and maybe more place to put and hang things in our room would have been nice.
The bathroom is very small but ok. The bed was not very good, its metall frame came apart when we leaned against it, and we had dirt/mud falling on us from the ceiling.
The aircon works well as does the wifi.
