Simple but nice!

We stayed here just for a night but the room was clean and the shower very nice. The breakfast was good (traditional rice and beans) and the people were very friendly – altogether a simple but very nice stay!

Good for a stopover

A $2 taxi ride (about 2 kms) from the central bus station, situated just off a main highway. Near to a very large supermarket, taco Bell and a few small restaurants. Very friendly welcome, and the option to pay by credit card. Room was very large, roomy and clean. Very comfortable beds with clean linens and towels. Triple room had a fridge freezer, good fan, aircon and spare pillows. WiFi signal good. Plenty of plugs. Powerful warm shower. Restaurant has OK food, but at a good price. Place is a bit rowdy as used for contractors, tourists and other workers (I think), but good as a stop off point if touring the region. Overall room is very good value.

Fast wifi and a good shower

We spent two nights at the Hotel y Cabinas in September. The room was clean, the refrigerator worked, the bed was comfortable enough. It's just a short distance from the highway and you could hear the trucks, but with the AC running, it didn't keep us up. The wifi was quite fast and the shower had consistently warm water. The shower was spacious. We ate dinner both nights at the restaurant and it was quite good. The restaurant wasn't open early enough in the morning for us to try breakfast. The staff were friendly and very helpful, even making sure we saw the Volcano Turrialba on a clear morning. It's a very decent no-frills place at a great price.

Excellent service, location and value

I recently stayed here for more than a week. My room was clean and comfortable (with fast WiFi), and the service was outstanding (particularly Marlon, Gemina & Ricardo). The hotel is conveniently located just off Hwy 32 (less than a mile from the Guapiles center) with a beautiful view of the Turialba Volcano. It's close to MaxPali supermarket (5 minutes walking). As a coffee lover, I especially appreciated the complimentary coffee available 24/7 at reception. I ate at the soda numerous times and the food was consistently good (and very reasonably priced). I will definitely stay here again the next time I'm in the area.

Ok for a one night stop

Not sure what we should have expected for the price but glad it was a sleep over rather than a stay. Guapiles is crazy with traffic, truck after truck after truck so constant noise which can be masked by air con. Room smallish with mishmash of old tatty furniture. Bed was very hard with plastic cover on the mattress and clean looking but slightly dubious bedding. Bit of a sweaty night as a result, despite the air in. Shower didn’t really work and water was only tepid- I opted out of using it. Didn’t stay for breakfast. In summary- ok for the price for one night
