Fab City Stay
Fantastic hotel located in a quiet part of Lille but within walking distance to the city centre. Great rooms and raved about shower. Bar staff superb and friendly. Sitting out the front in the sunshine in the morning with a coffee was sublime

Moxy Lille City: Modern Marriott quality in a historic building, great value, clean rooms, and close to the city center!
Moxy Hotels, the trendy spin-off of the Marriott Hotel organisation, offers the excellent service and Quality you’d expect from Marriott but in the style and price range of a 3-star hotel.
Moxy Lille City is housed in a beautifully renovated former university building, located just 1 kilometer from Lille’s historic center. The renovation blends modern design with the historic charm of the monumental property, maintaining its unique character and atmosphere.
Parking is available (paid but affordable) right outside the hotel. The breakfast is simple but fresh and tasty, while the rooms and bathrooms are clean, modern, and spacious enough.
The price-quality ratio is fantastic—you get Marriott-level quality at a very friendly 3-star price. Highly recommended for a comfortable and stylish stay in Lille!

The rooms are prison cells.
Very friendly welcome. But the rooms are horribly decorated, with industrial neon lights above the TV, this is very weird, the walls are dark grey, so very sad atmosphere, and no window! They are dormers, sort of little Velux, the room was very dark, but in broad daylight, the bed is of poor quality, the bathroom is freezing, no dry towel to warm this fridge. The breakfast is very little hearty, and very poorly organized, our stopover as a couple remains a very bad memory, in a room that looked rather like a prison cell, without window, and freezing! We're never coming back. We have never seen a Moxy so sad and so unwelcoming, quality is really lacking.

Le Moxy est un hôtel construit dans un très beau bâtiment, anciennement faculté de médecine de Lille. Ce bâtiment étant classé, nous ne pouvons modifier la structure. En effet, nous avons quelques chambre qui disposent de vélux et non de grandes fenêtre. Cela représente à peine 10% de nos chambres.
Nous comprenons parfaitement que celle-ci ne puisse pas être à votre goût, toutefois comparer ces chambres à des cellules de prison me parait un peu fort.
Nous faisons le maximum afin de répondre aux besoins de l'ensemble de nos clients et sachez que vos retours notamment sur notre petit-déjeuner nous permettrons de poursuivre nos améliorations et nous espérons sincèrement que vous aurez l'occasion de revenir au Moxy.
Cela vous permettra de voir que que nous travaillons tous à votre bien-être.

Pleasant and modern
Nice and varied breakfast, nice rooms, friendly spaces. Located less than 1km from a metro exit. A few small extra services would not be refused such as access to coffee machines or a coffee machine in the room. The bedding is very very firm, a quiet and discreet noise of machines heard in the early night. Blinds that are not totally blackout but for me it was still acceptable. The friendly welcome overall but not perfect either. Value for money very decent but can do better.

I so wanted to like the hotel and be able to recommend, but unfortunately there were and are too many (unresolved) issues.
We checked out on Saturday. Deposit was only released after I emailed the hotel on Tuesday. Member of staff wrote 'the system does not do it automatically unfortunately'. This is unacceptable. CHECK YOUR CREDIT CARD STATEMENTS.
Also the amount Moxy took from the credit card used at time of booking is higher than the confirmed total in the confirmation email from booking.com. When I enquired they blamed a bar bill, which can't be ours and also wasn't mentioned at check out.
Also after we complained twice at reception during our stay about the water (shower and tap) only being luke warm we were told (when we mentioned it for the third time) we had to move to a room in the other wing if we wanted a hot shower 'there is an issue with the water temperature in the rooms on the side you are staying in'. Would have been nice if we were told this straight away. From a legionella risk point of view this is worrying.
Also our room had all sort of stains and dust on the walls as well as dust under the beds.
The mirror was in an impossible corner of the room and lighting can be improved.
