From July 1, 2024, visitors to the city who stay overnight in Cologne's accommodation establishments will pay accommodation tax, regardless of whether the overnight stay is absolutely necessary for business or not. Unlike in the past, it will no longer be necessary to provide information about the purpose of the trip on a form at check-in.
