Good budget & Knowledgeable host

Didn't know what to expect initially. As soon as I got to the rest house, Babu introduced himself and told me to get some sleep after he noticed I was extremely tired. The next morning, he advised me on things I should eat and shouldn't eat as westerners are prone to getting sick easily. He took a lot of time to show me the temples, and other scenic views. I'm very grateful for the stay at this place and would recommend Babu.

Manager drinks beer at entrance

Manager drinks beer on entrance during late night, no manner how to behave with customer, bathroom were small and unhygienic, non cooperative and illetrate staff. Under bed lot of fuss on request to clean nothing been done.

Got a call from owner about how dare I gave a bad review. Shocking

I gave a review on trip advisor about this place called Om Rest House in varanasi where I rated the experience as "Poor" because of the smelly dingy room I was given.
However, what is so surprising is that I got a call from this number - 9336604326 where the guy claimed to call from Om rest house and started shouting about how and why did I give such a "Poor" rating to his place?
Really terrible behaviour almost bordeing on being abusive.
I strongly advice anyone never to stay at such a shaby place where in case, you give an honest negative review about the place then you get a call from the owner who instead of being apologetic for bad service and facilities, is complaining about how dare the guest gave a bad review. Really bad

Great host

Babu, the host, was one of our guides when we visited Varanasi 2 years ago. We are happy he has opened a guest house, and we will definitely stay with him if we visit again. He is a wonderful guide and made our visit in Varanasi a memorable one.

Clean rooms, great location

Great location 5 minutes walking from the main gath.
The place is overpriced if compared to other cities in India but is the cleanest we found in the area.
The aircon works perfect but the price is a lot higher than the fan rooms and there's frequent blackouts in Varanasi.
They let us leave our luggage and use the bathroom after check out for free.
