Great Hostel near to the airport
The Hostel is in a six storied building which is mustard coloured with white bordered windows. The main entrance is to the right through the gates to a automobile parking area. The blue gate in this area has "Abtokonohha 2927" at the top. Turn left after going through the gate, and enter the building through a set of white doors with the Sakho Hostel sign above. Climb the steps to the right to the fourth floor where the reception area is located. Footwear should be removed before entry, and placed in the lockers provided. The desk is 24 hour, and check in was efficient. We were able to store our bags here while exploring the city after checkout, the hostel did our laundry for a reasonable fee and we were able to pay a small fee for use of the shower although we had already checked out.
The room was clean and the wifi worked well. Although the hotel is next to a parking area for buses, it was surprisingly quiet. The railway tracks are on the other side of the road, but there are few trains passing by, so we were able to get a good rest. Breakfast was included in our room rate, and the kitchen is on the fifth floor. The meal was prepared by a hostel employee and was very good. A shop is to the right of the hotel entrance where you can get snacks. and cold beverages. If you want more f&b options, there are two supermarkets a short walk away on Ahmadi Donish Street.
Transportation is easy to get from the hostel, as mashrutka 15 and 33 run west on Nazarshoev Street to the Train Station, where there are quite a few attractions and more transportation options. If you walk north east to the trolleybus stop on Ahmadi Donish Street, trolleybus 2 and bus 8, will take you to the many attractions on Rudaki Avenue. We thought that this hostel was ideal for budget travelers, and is in a safe area to walk around, as is the rest of the city.
