Lovely Holiday

After booking our holiday we then checked the reviews and were thoroughly disappointed to read what people had written. But to our delight, we had a lovely time. Yes there were a lot of russian people there, some of whom are quite rude, but not all of them, the younger ones were friendly and tried to speak to you. The hotel itself was lovely, yes the 6th floor had the better rooms, but all the rooms were clean and the staff were helpful, friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The pools were great and the spa was fantastic. The food was as good as can be expected for all inclusive. Fresh and was hot if you got there early. The area was beautiful with many friendly staff in bars, shops and markets and the beach was beautiful. Overall although there were a few grumbles, we had a lovely time and were sad to be home!

Mediocre at best

I had booked our family vacation, mom dad two kids under ten, on a package deal, last minute. I liked that the place had two pools and a few waterslides and had it's own private beach, all meals and local alcoholic drinks (beer, wine (the worst wine!), and harder stuff) included.
You really do get what you pay for. I can imagine for a family of very modest means, this could be a decent vacation. Almost everyone was Russian or Turkish. Nice people but very boisterous as a rule. They usually blasted pop techno music all day by the pools. At night, the nightly show ran until midnight, and the music was very loud. The food-the salads were very good and some of the chicken dishes were decent. Most of the other food you could see they cut corners and ordered cheap meat and bland cheeses, and this is unlike Turkey where you have some of the best food in the world.
The place was rough around the edges, they defer maintenance to save costs. One slide for example, the big one, badly needed a new wax coating, everyone got stuck midway and had to walk the rest of the way down. Just one example.
The beach there you could not swim in as the surf is rough, and you basically dodge the waves until you get bored. The facilities were again mediocre, three star, not four hotel.
In addition, the hotel is not in Alanya, but Mahmutlar, a good 12 km from Alanya which has a decent beach (Kleopatra beach). Nothing to do in that town, except some local shopping and the market.
I would never go back, either I would spend the money for a FIVE star hotel beach resort after thoroughly researching it on the internet or not at all. Going home was for us like getting out of jail. If your expectations are not high, you will not be disappointed, but if you want a really nice once a year vacation with an intelligent and interesting crowd, this is not anyplace you want to go to.
The staff was not rude, however they are all pretty much indifferent. And this is unusual for Turkey, I have always found Turks to be very hospitable. It's the kind of place, not for individuals but for bus tours which turn over every few days. They just get jaded and it shows.
Wifi was slow but available all over the hotel and the beach which was nice.
Oh, almost forgot. They dumped a ton of chlorine in the pool, to the extent that my son's blue bathing suit was bleached almost white by the time we left. You cannot swim after 7 PM, which for us would have been great, as in the heat of the day it's noisy, hot, and the sun is brutal.

Avoid this hotel!

The worst experience ever!
Room was tiny, fully smoked, not renovated and old. Broken safe, no frige.
One restaurant for 3 big buildings. Not enough plates, knives, forks. Restaurant was like there were living pigs. Rude attitude from staff. Avoid this hotel.

Klas Dom Hotel - not as bad as the reviews make it sound

We have just come back from a weeks stay at Klas Hotel Dom. I was extremely worried when i saw the reviews but tried to be positive.
We arrived at 1.30 am and were greeted by a very nice hotel manager who showed us our rooms. He also asked if we wanted any food or drink but we were very tired and just wanted to go to bed.
We were a party of 6 (3 boys aged 15, 23 and 30 and 3 girls aged 17, 25 and 42). We had only booked 2 rooms. In our room, which was small, there was 1 double bed and 1 single. The boys room was the same. This was perfectly acceptable to us. I cannot fault the room for it's cleanliness. There was even paper on the toilet to hold the lid down - like you get on new toilets. The room was immaculate and we had a balcony too which again, although small was nice and had a great view.
We went down for breakfast the next morning with some trepidation. Whilst the comments on other reviews are true, we always found something to eat. They have a great selection of cheeses and if all else fails you can make a sandwich.
Lunch was pretty similar, there was lots of salad so if you like salad you will love it. The food was well laid out and there was plenty to go around.
We also always found somewhere to sit and the waiters were very friendly.
One gripe is that the dishes weren't labled so my mate, who is a veggie, was unsure of what he could and couldn't eat. A simple V in front of the veggie dishes could solve this issue.
The pool is lovely although we had to be there early to secure sunbeds. If we were late then we just went to the beach where there were plenty. Only problem here is that the beach bar doesn't serve alcohol so no cold beers by the sea.
We were the only English in the whole hotel on our stay. The clientelle was predominately Russian but they were fine and a few even tried to speak to us. There were lots of smiles.
There were also lots of children. If i had young kids i would go back to this hotel. The entertainment for them was very good and they all seemed to be having a great time.
The location is fantastic. Sea out the front door and shops and restaurants out the back. A large pizza cost us approximately £4!
The Turkish were very welcoming and not in your face like i have experienced in Marmaris.
There is free wi-fi in most area's of the hotel and the drinks on the all inclusive are adequate. You can ask for cocktails but given the language issues (not many of them speak good english) it was a bit of a surprise as to what you actually got :-).
For what we paid for our holiday i cannot complain. We had marvelous weather, met some lovely people and had a great time.
I would recommend this hotel. The reason i have only given it 3 stars is because i always get very cheap holidays (we paid £310 each for a week and that included transfers AND the Visa) and compared to others it wasn't quite as good because of the food. However, if i could get it at the same price again i would definitely go back.
One thing to be aware of is that this hotel is 2.5 hours from the airport. I didn't realise this when booking but it was ok in the end and the resorthopper transport was very good.
Special thanks to the black guy Ackmid??? who seemed to work tirelessly from 9am until gone 3 in the morning. The kids loved him and so did we.
Thanks to all the staff who made our holiday special.

Klas Doom Hotel

My wife and I arrived only to be given the laundry cupboard to sleep in, so after seeing receptionist we moved to cell block H ( B actually ) slight improvement. All inclusive is a laugh the hotel ran out of rum on our 2nd day and never got any more, they only had vodka, lager and wine vinegar and they were watered down. Food was repeditive ( it kept coming up during conversation ) chicken for breakfast (eggs), lunch and dinner. The best things about this hotel was meeting up with other brits and the bar staff ( specially Adil ). If it wasn't for a group of us getting together then i feel our holiday would have been quite different. This is as the other reviews state not a 4star but a 2star, did I mention the sheety sheets!?
