Little gem of a place

We were looking for a small venue for a family wedding, Ashmount fitted the bill perfectly.
Beautiful bedrooms all en-suite, each room had its own unique character and charm.
The dining room comfortably seated 18 on one large table.
The service and the 3 course meal itself was outstanding, we could not have asked for more.
A hot cooked breakfast was offered the next morning, again very well presented and nothing was too much trouble, very helpful and obliging staff.
Highly recommend this guest house for a comfortable stay with good food and friendly staff.

Wow Such a Wonderful Stay

Communication 10/10
24 hours before we arrived I enquired whether it would be possible for my husband to have afternoon tea at the hotel as part of our deal. The service ie. the communication between the hotel and us was beyond amazing - facts flying late evening and early morning.
Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff member who helped make our stay really memorable.
Gluten Free catering 10/10
The Gluten Free Afternoon tea provided for him was absolutely magnificent and tasted amazing (If you've tasted a lot of GF food you'll appreciate the amount of effort that went into this!) Mine was delicious too! Breakfast was plentiful - continental.
Afternoon Tea 10/10
Served between 1-3pm. So much delicious food that we struggled to eat our evening meal and we were given two boxes of any cakes we didn't eat (1 GF & 1 normal box)
Hotel Decor 10/10
The hotel is very clean. The rooms are beautifully decorated with gorgeous, well upholstered, historically accurate furniture to suit the time of the house, polished wooden furniture, interesting paintings eg a signed print of a painting of the filming of The Railway Children, may favourite Pre-Raphaelite painting, The Tour de France when it went through Yorkshire.
A fridge was outside the room on the landing with fresh milk was well placed. Very quiet at night, no outside noise heard, Comfortable bed and good pillows.
There are rooms/places to sit if you didn't want to spend the evening in the room.
Not offering evening meals here isn't an issue as there are so many places to eat within walking distance in Hawoth. Worth booking a restaurant in advance.
What an amazing place to stay, within walking distance of all the Bronte historical sites, church, museum, walks. We will definitely be coming again.
Didn't consider a room with a pool - why would you? when you can be outside and admire the countryside? or get soaked in the classic Bronte Heathcliffe rain rolling mists on a Bronte walk?

Appalling customer service.

We rang Ashmount house 4 times over a period of several days, leaving a message on their answerphone with our name and number each time.
Nobody returned our calls!
Absolutely appalling customer service.
I'm afraid I this place is crossed off our to visit list.

Authentic country house in a beautiful setting

Beautiful house and gardens in a picturesque and historic village . The two young ladies, Georgia and Robyn were just lovely very friendly and professional. If you want to relax and be left to your own devices perfect place to go. Very clean and well maintained rooms with genuine Victorian furniture and a view to stare at for hours . Perfectly positioned at the top of the historic village within 2 minutes walk . Only issue was lack of cooked breakfast and the feel of a hotel. It did feel more like an up market. holiday let than a hotel. However during quiet periods small businesses have to cut back to service. Many thanks. Michael and Kerry

Not value for money

Went for afternoon tea. Sparsely populated on a midweek afternoon. The service was fine but the food very disappointing. We expected homemade pastries but received limp supermarket style sausage rolls. Scones were small and again seemed shop bought style. Not many small finger sandwiches. The setting was fine.
Could be so much better.
