Truly Sanibel Strong!

Absolutely beautiful accommodation- it was so lovely having our own cottage space with all of the amenities we needed. We were married on the island 26 years ago and over the years many hurricanes have caused such tragedy and destruction but the resilience of the businesses around the island are amazing. The Driftwood Inn had to make a complete renovation as a result of the storms and we entered a brand new unit where every item had to be replaced and it was just perfect! The family of 4 who own this lovely spot have persevered and created a beautiful gem in the center of the island - and it’s pet-friendly as well. The beach, shells, wildlife refuge, restaurants, shopping and the Inn are a lovely reminder of the beauty and strength of Sanibel Island!!

Sweet little cottage with beautiful garden!

This is a great little spot a short walk (about a block) from the beach. This property has new owners since our last visit and we were impressed with some of the changes. They were very responsive and really seem to care about their guests. They have also redone the garden area out back and it is stunning! It was very clean and comfy! We really appreciate the bikes they provide too!

Driftwood is the best!

We spent 12 years vacationing on Sanibel at a resort with cottages along the gulf until Ian literally blew it away. I was sure I wouldn’t find a place to compare, but for the 2nd year we have stayed at Driftwood Inn for 4 weeks in January. I am so glad we found them and have no need to search any further. It is clean, comfortable and spacious. Located on a quiet side street only about a 5 minute walk to the beach. It is also conveniently located to a number of great restaurants and shopping. Being pet friendly we could also bring our dog. We really appreciated the shared laundry, full kitchen, bikes to use, beach chairs and a wagon to take to the beach. And the owners are very accommodating and receptive to suggestions to make our stay more enjoyable. If you want a pleasant stay on Sanibel, Driftwood Inn is the place. We already have our reservations for next year.

Highly recommend this sweet Sanibel spot!

Very cute cottages on Sanibel, short walk to the beach. I spent a week here in December with my family. We were the first to stay here after they'd rebuilt post-hurricane. Everything was brand new and clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable, and we had everything we needed. We really enjoyed the screened-in lanai, where we ate our meals and spent a lot of time relaxing. We mostly cooked and ate our meals in, but we were a short walk from a great restaurant, and a short bike ride from other restaurants, shops and a full-service grocery store (that offers delivery).
Bicycles were included with the rental, which was great for us, as we did not want to rent a car -- we walked to the beach daily and used our bikes to go everywhere else. A washer and dryer were included (shared with another cottage), along with beach chairs, beach towels and beach umbrella, and a wagon to take it to the beach.
This is a great family-run business, and the owners were fantastic, very responsive. If you are looking for a nice, comfortable quiet place to relax and enjoy Sanibel, I highly recommend this spot.

Beautiful and quaint cottages in a perfect location. Very clean, spacious, and the beach themed decor is a bonus. Great for families and also pet friendly. Less than 10 minute walk to the beach and close bike ride. New owners are fantastic, definitely exceeded our expectations! Can't wait to book again soon!
