Clean place to stay near places to eat
Great place to stop on our Route 66 journey. Room was clean; staff helpful. Good location (we went to Motorheads Bar and Grill for dinner). Ample free parking. Great breakfast for the entire family. Used this as our HQ for visiting Springfield in general.

Stay away and save your money
Out dated, not well
Maintained, friendly staff
but no one takes responsibility.
Staffs were friendly and good with directions and food information in the area.
Asked to have room refreshed daily when checking in and told no problem. The front desk clerk says he would put in a note. Came back from sightseeing the next day the room was not refreshed. No one was around since it was early afternoon but clean towels were provided.
When first walked into the king bed suite the tile floor was
sticky and the phone in the sitting area was not working.
Floor was cleaned but
Phone never work after informing the dront desk TIWCE!
Very poorly maintained hotel:
Carpet is old and dirty.
Table corner is chipped.
Ceiling is dirty and never been cleaned, you have spider webs!
It is a shame this is a Hilton brand. What a disappoint!

Hotel Recommended for Families
At first when we entered the our room it looked small and out-of-date, but we warmed up to it. Our stay was 3 nights. The Pros: Shower was amazing! Staff was quick to get us more towels upon request. We could control the thermostat . Sleeping and breakfast were decent. Breakfast had a good variety: waffle station and coffee bar. Breakfast staff and front desk staff were kind. Cons: Our door made a loud noise when opening and closing. The 1st night had to get used to noises of air conditioner going on and off. The bathroom was not as clean as it could be; I had to wipe up some obvious urine under the toilet seat with lysol wipes. I would say overall a great stay. They have a pool on 1st floor, but no hot tub, plus restrooms in the hallways. There are ice and vending machines on each floor. The hotel is in good proximity to the capital, Lincoln's home and the Lincoln museum, about 10 mins and all located in downtown. His Tomb is about the same distance, but North direction. Route 66 Motorhead Restaurant was South about 10 mins, bit did not think the meal was that great. If you want a simple meal and assortment, Bob Evans is 2 mins from the hotel. If you could only see one thing, see Lincoln's Presidental Museum. You will not be disappointed! It will take 2.5-3 hours to tour. Closes at 5 so plan accordingly. Capital was a short tour , about 20 mins. We stayed about an hour to look around after. The Illinois Museum was okay. Took about 40 mins. The Carriage Restaurant had awesome sweet potatoes and wraps. The Obed and Isaac's Pub and Restaurant had delicious pulled beef tacos. Recommended eateries for downtown. Scoop Dejour is cute ice cream parlor about 5 mins from hotel. The Mall is not too far either if you need to walk those calories off and stay coo! lGreat hotel for family! Camping World is across the street and another hotel right behind the Hampton Inn. Overall, quiet and safe.

We reserved a 2 room suite (room 330) for 3 nights and there was no hot water. The water would get luke-warm at best so it was not a comfortable shower experience. We reported it to the front desk on the first day and they said they would send maintenance but we never saw anyone. Also, there were no pens or pads in the room. While this may seem a small detail, I did need to write something down and had nothing to do that with. Even lower-end hotels have pens/pads in the room and I would have expected that to be the case at least in a suite.
The breakfasts were average and there was a good selection and lots of it. It fit our need.
The beds were comfortable and the curtains were very good at blocking out the light so it was a good sleeping experience.
The hotel was also quiet so other than the shower situation, I would have no issue staying in this hotel again.

We stayed for 3 nights and they failed to clean the room and exchange towels, etc. on the second night like they told us they would. Property is older and not in the best of areas but they do try to keep the common areas clean and the staff seemed friendly.
