A hotel whose strength is the family run

Structure of 1968 renovated. Unfortunately, the pools are not communicated with each other, but there are 3 tested. The kindness of the staff (family management makes a positive difference!) makes you feel at home. Rooms a little small in line with the needs of 1968. Excellent cuisine. Excellent cleanliness. Congratulations

Experience that I would not repeat

TERRIBLE experience had at your facility.
First of all, as soon as we set foot in the room we already receive a phone call from the reception asking to send my partner's documents again.
Room with shower next to the bed instead of in the bathroom, you could hear the noises of people standing on the opposite side of the floor.
A few minutes later on my personal phone I receive a second phone call from reception from another colleague while we were trying to relax by the pool asking again for the documents to be sent (when the documents had already been sent correctly)
Apart from this very small inconvenience the guys especially those who work in bars are always smiling and helpful, enough to convince me and my girlfriend to go and collect in the next morning to give him a tip.
Note that the pool is not as hot as in many other facilities in the area and many whirlpools had the switch not working.
In the room instead the shower tray was plugged by the hair of another person and during the night instead the radiator of the bathroom began to make a noise that forced us to wake up at 2 to turn it off
The next day, however, everything started to get even worse and the disorganization and the perception of not being welcome guests took over
Being that it was my birthday we asked receptionist Elena if it was possible to keep a cake I had procured in the fridge to eat later with my friends.
Rolling his eyes he accepted this request and not paying attention to the fact that I had told him that we would have lunch at the facility.
Once we entered the pool for the morning we ordered 5 prosecco for a total of €17.50
I give 50 euros to the bartender by telling him verbatim words
“Keep 20 euros to yourself because you were very kind with the rest I pay the prosecco”
A total of €37.50 right?
Do you think I saw my change of 12 euros and 50 or a receipt?
The answer is NO!!!
My girlfriend to have 2 pool towels asked 3 different people to be able to have them and despite requests were granted the operators disappeared and then return after 20 minutes each without a towel.
At the third attempt where we were freezing they give us towels also asking us to pay for each towel and so we do.
Too bad one has a cigarette burn, but that's okay.
We move on to the restaurant where strangely no one expected our presence and we are proposed a beautiful table attached to the entrance despite being empty and next to a table of very nice people who did nothing but pour the baby and with the child who responded to the pours with as many pours.
But surely better than getting into a silly table overlooking the park?
Clearly from the kitchen we are offered what was left and we had to settle.
When asked for some bread we are answered “there is the bread buffet”. I walk across the restaurant to find that the “bread buffet” consists of a basket containing 2 tiny sandwiches of the frozen ones that we had to make enough for 5 people.
Always in front of everyone they ask us how we prefer to pay.
Being that checkout had already been done we said we would pay immediately.
The waiters evidently annoyed by our presence took away our dishes while some diners were still eating and during dessert the waiters disappear with the last dishes on our table not giving me the opportunity to pay.
During the second afternoon at the pool I ask if a table could be arranged to eat a cake and drink a bottle of prosecco with friends
Which is fortunately accepted and I then pay for the bottle of prosecco.
Meanwhile, at the refreshment in front of everyone arrive 2 different bottles and it is said “this bottle has already been paid for and this instead not”.
Another request for money and a fall in style. I didn't ask for a second bottle and I'm sending it back.
We eat the cake we drink the prosecco and go back to the pool to relax... when the bartender for the umpteenth time I try to relax calls me to himself and asks me to pay extra for the “catering service”
I pay the extra but from that moment I had the disgust of staying in that structure.
I spent the whole weekend being interrupted with various requests “and the customer I remind you... it’s me!”
In the end we are intercepted as thieves by the receptionist to ask for payment for lunch (despite we entertained ourselves for 20 minutes more at the table waiting for on account)
30 euros each for a lunch that maybe is worth 12 as in the workers menu.
Food arrived not hot and apparently very arranged.
I tried to always smile and accept everything ... but looking at the whole is not how it is treated in the customer and who works all year to get there to relax.
Too bad really

Ci dispiace molto che il soggiorno nel nostro Hotel non sia stato di vostro gradimento...
Se abbiamo avuto qualche mancanza ci scusiamo, ma sottolineiamo che alcune delle vostre osservazioni non coincidono esattamente con quanto descritto.
Ci dispiace che al momento della vostra partenza non ci abbiate informato di tutto ciò, visto che a fine del vostro soggiorno vi abbiamo chiesto se era andato tutto bene e la vostra risposta è stata positiva, perché?
Non desideriamo prolungarci oltre, ci conforta il fatto che il vostro pensiero e le vostre impressioni non coincidano con quelle di tutti gli altri ospiti presenti nello stesso periodo nel quale avete soggiornato anche voi.
Sperando che questa esperienza non condizioni negativamente il vostro giudizio su Abano, vi auguriamo di trovare per il vostro prossimo soggiorno un Hotel più consono alle vostre esigenze.

Disappointing & Terrible Experience

A disappointing and terrible experience for my boyfriend's 30th birthday. We stayed for one night. On the first day, I have to say the pool attendant and barman Carlo were fantastic and understood customer service (02/11/24). On the first night, the drain for the shower was blocked. During the night, I woke up at 2am because there was a loud sound coming from the radiator, in the bathroom. I switched it off so we could sleep.
The day of my boyfriend's birthday was quite shocking for a 4-star hotel. We picked up a cake from a local bakery. We asked the receptionist, Elena, if we could store it in the fridge until friends arrived. She said yes, but as she walked away, she rolled her eyes to heaven. She asked if we would be having lunch in the restaurant, and we said yes and made a reservation with her for five people.
When we entered the pool area, I politely asked the pool attendant for some towels. He didn't return after 20 minutes so I made my way to the reception desk when I met Elena on the way. She said she would bring me some towels. 20 minutes later still no towels. I went to reception. Elena must have gone to lunch because a different receptionist told me because we had checked out, a fee of €5 per towel would need to be paid. I paid for the towels. One had a cigarette burn on it.
At 13:30, we all made our way to the restaurant for lunch. The staff didn't know we had a table booked. We were given a table beside the entrance to the restaurant. There were lots of tables available beside the windows looking out onto greenery. The table wasn't set so the waitress was placing cutlery down on the table as we sat down. We weren't offered a menu but told what was left in the kitchen. Shortly after, a baby from the table beside us started to cry. No bread was brought to the table. I ordered a tomato pasta dish. It was room temperature. After, I ordered chicken. It was cold and was served with a slice of dehydrated lemon, a piece of salad and a carrot in the shape of a flower. The cauliflower was over-salted. Nothing was fresh. I tried my boyfriend's risotto, and it was flavourless and not hot. I feel like the food was microwaved. It was difficult to find staff to order more water. A 4-star hotel should provide a fine dining experience. I've had a better experience in a petrol station. However, the dessert was enjoyable. I ate caramel ice cream with slices of pineapple. For €150, it wasn't worth it.
For the aperitif, we were given a table outside. The temperature was 14°C. On the table, we had our cake, one bottle of prosecco, two small bowls of chips and a small bowl of nuts. However, the waiter brought two bottles of prosecco. He pointed out in front of everyone we didn't pay for the second bottle. We didn't order a second bottle and we sent him back to the bar with the non-requested bottle. We had plastic seats without seat cushions.
We went back to the pool. While we were in the pool, the waiter came over with a card machine and asked for €10 for cutlery. My boyfriend paid. We were told after it was a mistake by the hotel because they forgot to tell us earlier when a payment was made. We were offered a free drink at the bar. I ordered a Baileys and it was measured. It was insulting at this point.
Overall, it was a disappointing and terrible experience, and I wouldn't recommend staying here.

If we had any shortcomings, we apologise, but we would like to point out that some of your comments did not coincide exactly with what was described.
We regret that at the time of your departure you did not inform us of this, since at the end of your stay we asked you if everything had gone well and your answer was positive, why?
We do not wish to prolong this any further, we are comforted by the fact that your thoughts and impressions do not coincide with those of all the other guests who stayed at the same time as you.
Hoping that this experience will not negatively condition your opinion of Abano, we wish you to find for your next stay a hotel more suited to your needs.

Great value for money. Family environment

This is the second time I have visited this hotel. I can only reiterate the happy experience of last year. Family atmosphere, courteous and helpful staff for any need that arose. Excellent cuisine both for breakfast and lunch and dinner. This year I noticed some disorganization in the bar service (you can't wait a quarter of an hour after lunch or dinner to have a coffee). The room small but more than enough, nothing to say about the cleanliness. Excellent spa department for the kindness and professionalism of the staff. Professional and precise Doctor. I would also like to report Mrs. Luisa exceptional as a person and as Pro (another thank you!!). I thank all the staff of the hotel with the hope of seeing you all again next year.

A real relaxation!

The Hotel was inaugurated at the end of the 60s, but it is very pleasant and has its own "dolce vita" charm, it is well looked after, updated and renovated in everything that is needed, very clean. Large rooms with large bathrooms, comfortable and bright, all with an enjoyable balcony, it has a beautiful, immense park (with nice minigolf and even a slightly shabby bowling green where we had fun), very enjoyable swimming pools, all very relaxing, functional and practical. Very kind staff. We were full board for 4 days and found the food excellent. In a quiet peripheral location away from the chaos, but really a 10 minute walk from the centre. Abundant parking. We had a great time. If I have to make one note, the lack of a drinks and wine list with a clear list, because in the final bill (the drinks were extra), between what was taken and what was spent, the drink prices seemed a tad expensive. But all together Hotel Terme Orvieto was very ok for us!
