We booked the room with river view and loved it. It had the view where the 3 rivers merged and we could see "The Ningbo Bund" - where the pubs were located. From 7pm to 10 pm every night, the buildings are lit with coordinated coloured lights. Amazing view.
Hotel room has all the amenities and very comfortable super single beds.
Location was great. We walked along the riverside to Tianyi Square and to The Bund.

Not a pleasant stay
Feels only 2 star hotel. Smoking smell fills every corridor and every standard room, centralized HVAC was shut down before of the season, so you don't get air circulation. You do get a portable air purifier machine as you did complain, but it doesn't get any better, the smoking smell soaked into carpet. Will not have second chance from me.
Staff is great, they will give you a hand , but I can see the management is not doing there job to bring hotel to a 4/5 star standard.

This is an older 5 star hotel but it is in the best location in Ningbo. Great river views and a short walk to the downtown restaurant and shopping areas.

Prime Location: CITIC Ningbo enjoys an enviable location, offering easy access to the heart of the city. From my room, I had a delightful view of the surroundings, which added to the overall experience.
Breakfast Variety: The breakfast spread was impressive, with an array of options to suit different tastes. Whether you prefer a hearty meal or something light, the hotel caters to all preferences.
Fully Stocked Mini Bar: The mini bar was a pleasant surprise. It was well-stocked, allowing guests to indulge in their favorite beverages and snacks.
However, there were a couple of areas where the hotel fell short:
Toiletry Oversight: Unfortunately, the housekeeping team overlooked the essential toiletries. I missed having a dental kit, comb, body cream, and shower gel. Even the shampoo was absent from the toiletries collection.
Tiny Bottles: In the cabinet, I found only tiny bottles of body wash and shampoo. While they were functional, I expected more comprehensive amenities.
In summary, CITIC Ningbo International Hotel offers a nostalgic charm, excellent location, and stylish ambiance. With a little attention to detail, it could regain its former glory. If you appreciate a touch of history in your stay, this hotel is worth considering.

The main hotel's advantage is location, rooms are quite old but to spend one-two nights is ok.
