Perfect

Can only give opinion on the food side.
Staff are very good and welcoming. Lovely and warm with the fire going.
We tend to sit in the bar area. Great for socialising.
We have had many carvery meals, on Sunday's as well as Friday evenings.
Always a good selection of meats and veg.
Yes the property needs updating, the meals though,are great as they are

There are other places- DON’T stay here

I don’t know where to start with this place. Firstly when we arrived there was no staff, we saw no one other than three guests in reception the whole time we were there. The place stunk of a mould smell and as you’ll see in the pictures the hotel is rundown and in need of desperate and extensive refurbishment.
In the room was worse, a musky dusty smell and everything was old and heavily marked. Single glazed windows and net curtains, hello 1975!
I can’t think of any positives for this place, I certainly would not return and would never recommend.
I paid £85 for a family room, wasn’t worth £10.

Desperately in need of renovation

Rooms are a decent size and beds comfortable, plus it isn't that pricey and the staff when you find them are helpful. However, the whole place is in desperate need of a complete renovation. Entrance hall to the main accommodation smells of damp an the whole place has a grubby feeling to it. Wouldn't stay here again.

Great Carvery

Great carvery and probably the best carvery around (in my opinion), the staff are great and the food is plentiful and very tasty.
The open fire is very nice and makes any visit cosy, to all the staff please keep up the great work. We are regular visitors and have not found a better place to have a Sunday Carvery.

Totally unpleasant stay

Property needs seriously updating. Rooms were freezing, mould in bathroom and shower leaking. No staff around to complain to as reception is unmanned
Hotel is in a nice setting but needs serious refurbishment. Our friends had a slightly nicer room but overall a really unpleasant stay.
