Relaxing hotel in a stunning location
The decor for me is part of the charm of the place and it’s like taking a step back in time.
The walks around the lake and damn are well worth it and a great way of working up an appetite.
All of the food we had during our stay was extremely tasty (breakfast, tapas and dinner) however my only one criticism is that we found the food to be delivered a little too quickly. As soon as we had finished our starters our mains were with us in 2 minutes. It didn’t take anything away from the food but it did mean our 3 course meal was over in 50 minutes and when you have little else to do it would have been nice to sit and enjoy the meal a little longer.
This took nothing away from our amazing stay and we will be back very soon.

Water coming into bedroom
A massive downside to the stay was the bedroom ceiling leaking, soaking the pillow and getting dirty water onto my pillow and head.
On speaking with the manager, he seemed disinterested and offered a very reluctant apology. He didn't offer anything as compensation, which I found extremely odd.
We also went to the tavern the pub attached were staff members could he heard arguing and acting inappropriately.
Far from the relaxing stay we'd hoped for. With this being said, most of the staff were lovely and attentive.
This is a real shame as it has always been a dream of mine to stay here. I also think it's extremely rude that my complaint email was not answered. However, emails around reservations are answered almost immediately.

Wife away with the wife.
Nice hotel, food was good and I'm a fussy eater. The Broccoli and stilton soup was the soup of the day, and was very tasty, and I'm not a big fan of home made soup. Room was big and clean and the bed was very comfortable. I tried to book a lake view room but none available. We did get a great view of the lake half way through breakfast when the mist lifted.
Would definitely book again but for longer.

A Beautiful Hotel and Lovely Staff
Easy to park and a seamless check-in.
The room was large with a sizeable double bed; an extra heater was thrown in for good measure. The view of the lake was just.....wow!
Nice bar area with a relaxed feel. The restaurant was nice, but a bit overpriced for my liking. However, there is nowhere else to eat in the vicinity, so I suppose they have got you there. The staff are lovely though and I couldn't fault them.
The breakfasts are amazing and made up for the overpriced and lack lustre evening meal the night before.
Would definitely recommend
